Concurrently with the publication of the previous article sul Design del Distretto dei Laghi, di Enrico Mercatali, e dell'intervista di Eliana Frontini a Giorgio Sambonet, intendiamo completare il quadro d'eccellenza offerto dalle nostre provincie di Novara e Vercelli in fatto di design con un articolo dedicato anche a Roberto Sambonet, la cui figura di grande spessore artistico e culturale è già stata ampiamente e ben sottolineata nella grande mostra allestita in Torino, a Palazzo Madama (aprile - giugno 2008), dedicata alla sua poliedrica attività d'artista e industriale.





Come per gli altri casi Taccuini non approfondirà tanto gli aspetti biografici e storici del personaggio, quanto, attraverso le immagini della sua opera, preferirà divulgarne lo spirito, e tutto ciò che intrinsecamente appartiene al percorso estetico e culturale dell'ambito creativo, sia pur rilevando in esso quanto corrisponde anche alle istanze della produzione, che pur affiorea potente in ogni sua piega, per tutto quanto egli ha spontaneamente appreso , assieme al cugino Giorgio (vedi l'intervista di Eliana Frontini - Archivio Taccuini Internazionali, ottobre 2010) dentro alla fabbrica, che suo padre e suo zio hanno fondato e contribuito a portare a così alti livelli di capacità produttiva e notorietà nel mondo.
