VAL THORENS: LA PIU 'HIGH STATION OF EUROPE

Val Thorens: a village at 2300 m above sea level. With a business card like it should not be surprised if this place is among the most popular not only by the French, but also by the Italians. The long road to get there is certainly, as the tunnel of Frejus in here it takes about two hours. But the offer of this resort is worth the inconvenience of traveling a few more kilometers. Val Thorens is a modern village located in a large basin below the Aiguille de Peclet (3562 m) and is part of the largest ski resort in the world, "Les 3 Vallées", or 600 km of trails all connected skis. From here you can give to the nearby ski tour Les Menuires and Saint Martin de Belleville, at the bottom of the valley, go to Meribel, easily accessible through the Mont de la Chambre, or even get up to Courchevel (eye at the time of return, however, in this case!) . If you want to stay in Val Thorens, there are still 140 km of pistes ranging from 1800 m of the Plan de l'eau up to 3200 of Cime Caron. The tracks are all large, out of the woods, with alternations of sudden and dramatic walls. The black lines are rarely, because the French love the bumps much more than the Italians ...

ASSESSMENTS FOR BEGINNERS: 8.5 / 10 INTERMEDIATE: 9.5 / 10 ADVANCED: 9.5 / 10

MACUGNAGA: THE PEARL OF MONTE ROSA

begin with the presentation of this unusual place (beaten by little unusual because of the large tourism circuits) located at the end of a long road that runs through the valley Anzasca. The trip, from Domodossola, not very long, about half an hour di auto, purtroppo la strada è stretta e qualche volta è interrotta a causa di frane e i lavori vanno solitamente molto a rilento...

In paese ci sono tutti i servizi essenziali, negozi caratteristici, belle casette Walser style, not many hotels, a skating rink for the winter outdoors in Pecetto. The nightlife is pretty quiet, except at New Year. But we offer winter: it is about 40 km of ski trails located in two separate and unrelated to each other, that of the Belvedere, from Pecetto reached by a chairlift, and that of Monte Moro, reachable by cable car bracket. In front there are ample parking facilities, even partially free! Usually find parking here is not a problem ... The area of \u200b\u200bBelvedere extends between 14oo and 1900 m, is equipped with artificial snow, it's almost always in the shade in winter, because just below la più ripida parete del Monte Rosa, ed adatto alle famiglie per la prevalenza di piste medio-facili.
The tracks are usually well-groomed, wide and with very few people. Monte Moro is also home to many off-piste itineraries. But let's shortcomings: as I said is very difficult to find all 40 km of trails open to snow-making problems and staff shortages. The plants are very "vintage": very beautiful and fascinating the two lifts of Monte Moro, the chair largely obsolete windswept, ideal for freezing ... Macugnaga is recommended for those who want to find places within walking distance from major cities of the North-west environment quiet and unspoiled, where you can definitely ski in a satisfactory manner, provided they do not want to have a vast area and cutting edge. PRESENTATION

Hello! This blog was born from the desire to share my passion for mountains and skiing with several other "diehards" who can not wait, right in time to arrive for the winter season can resume the best sport in the world and varied.

Ovviamente i commenti saranno i benvenuti!
